Issues: Senior Citizens Unemployed and Low-Income Entitlements and the Safety Net Health Insurance

Jane supports safety net and prevention programs such as the Children's Health Insurance Program (NC Health Choice), Medicaid, More at Four, Smart Start and Medicare for seniors -- programs that are critical to the well-being of our communities and our state.

Over the past two years, the General Assembly has slashed programs that provide services people with mental illnesses and developmental disabilities. They have abolished nationally recognized programs like drug treatment courts. When we fail to treat people in need, society pays a higher price later.

Jane will support healthcare programs, as well as all available pre-school and elementary nutrition programs, so the children of NC can have the healthy foundation they need to become vibrant and productive citizens and reach their full potential
